Move-in instructions

We've targeted the most effective way for you to arrive on campus during the busiest time of year! Find building-specific instructions on your residence's webpage by clicking on the appropriate building in the Residences menu.

Check-in takes place anytime throughout the day, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please note that most formal orientation activities begin in the evening.

Orientation Leaders (sophs) will be on hand to assist in moving your belongings to your residence room on move-in day, with your permission. Due to Orientation Week being dry, the University Students' Council policy states that sophs are not permitted to handle any boxes labeled with alcohol (i.e. beer boxes, wine cases picked up from the LCBO), so please refrain from packing your personal belongings in them. In addition, please refrain from using garbage bags to pack your belongings in. Often these can be confused as garbage, and be mistakenly discarded.

Western ONECard

The photo upload service for the Western ONECard is NOW available through Student Services. This feature is available to all newly admitted students who have not attended Western in the past and will be attending undergraduate studies or the Pre-Service education program in September 2010.

The Western ONECard is required in order to visit campus recreation, access your residence, use the bus pass, borrow library material, use your campus meal plan or rez meal plan, access various buildings across campus, and use vending machines through your meal plan.

Visit the Student Services website to upload your photo today. During Orientation week, your Western ONECard will be waiting for you, rather than you waiting for your Western ONECard.

A friendly welcome

Your Residents' Council has prepared a welcome newsletter just for you! Visit your residence's webpage by clicking on the appropriate building in the Residences menu. You'll see the link to the newsletter on the top-right hand side of the page.
