Residences Overview

The campus of The University of Western Ontario is located in London, a thriving Ontario centre of more than 352,000 that combines the facilities of big-city living with the comforts of a small-town community. The campus itself offers numerous conveniences right within its gates. From any of the residences, you're only a short walk to a bank, convenience stores, medical clinic, pharmacy, gyms, a pool and other recreational facilities, a bookstore, restaurants, a post office, films, live theatre, two art galleries, and a wide variety of student services.

We offer two styles of residence at Western. Our traditional-style residences (Delaware Hall, Medway-Sydenham Hall, Perth Hall, and Saugeen-Maitland Halls) offer single and double rooms with shared common washrooms on each floor. Traditional-style residences enable you to easily get acquainted and develop a strong sense of belonging with your floor community. For many students, it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to room a with similar-minded student, creating bonds that last a lifetime! Our suite-style residences (Alumni House, Elgin Hall, Essex Hall, London Hall) offer single rooms with shared cooking facilities, semi-private washrooms, and a common living area. Suite-style residences are geared toward more independent living, where you will look after more of your own domestic responsibilities, including the option to cook some of your own meals.
