Residence offers will be made to students on the waiting list if vacancies occur throughout the summer. Students can find out their position on the waiting list by visiting myResidence.

NOTE: To remain active on the waiting list, you must visit myResidence to confirm your continued interest at least once per month or your name will be removed from the list. Once removed, should you decide to go back on the list, your name would then be placed at the end.

FIRST-YEAR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Guaranteed residence offers are given to single students coming directly from high school who receive an offer of full-time admission by the mid-May at Western's main campus. All other students receive waiting list information. Beginning in mid-June, if there are residence spaces available, waiting list applications will be considered. To be placed on the waiting list, complete the online Residence Placement Questionnaire by logging in to myResidence. Please note that to be able to access the questionnaire, you must have received an academic offer and have a valid student number and PIN.

Questionnaires submitted by June 2, 2011 are placed on the waiting list in lottery-number order by a computer-generated lottery, which randomly assigns a number to each student. You can visit myResidence after June 30, 2011 to find out your position on the list. Questionnaires submitted after June 2, 2011 are placed on the waiting list in order of date received. Please allow a few days for processing before returning to myResidence to determine your position.

To remain active on the waiting list, you must visit myResidence to confirm your continued interest on at least a monthly basis.

STUDENTS RETURNING TO UWO (main campus)

Key times that the waiting list numbers may change considerably are at the beginning of April, the beginning of May and early-July. More offers may be issued at the beginning of April, once the number of acceptances from the initial round of offers is known. In May, the number may change, as we remove any current students from the waiting lists who did not contact our office in April to indicate their interest in remaining active on the waiting lists. Many students who are near the bottom of the list choose to remove their names from the waiting list and find alternate accommodation off-campus. We continue to make offers of accommodation over the summer months and into the fall, as spaces become available from cancellations. Should you decide to change your building preferences, keep in mind that your original choices will be cancelled and you will be placed at the end of the waiting list for all building preferences regardless of whether you change one or all of your selections. TRANSFER, EXCHANGE, PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL, AND GRADUATE STUDENTS
